Bring your expertise and collaborative skills to make an impact towards our military defense and safety of our sailors by discovering your new role supporting this Fleet Logistics Center San Diego HAZMAT contract. Although part of a bigger team, you will mostly work independently.
In this role, you will:
- Handle orders involving items that have readily identified uses and applications.
- Refer to a catalog, manufacturer's manual or similar document to ensure that the proper item is supplied or to verify the price of order.
- Work in conjunction with customers, buyers, and others to research, validate, processes, expedite and update material purchase requests for hazardous materials, supplies, merchandise, equipment, or tools.
- Monitor and frequently update order status in computer-based tracking systems and effectively communicate with customers, Buyers, and others regarding status updates.
- Generate accurate and reliable reports to provide timely information on open order status.

Qualifications:To be successful in this role, you will have:
- High School dipolma
- Ability to pass National Agency and Local Agency Check (NALAC) investigation
- 2 years of experience working with HAZMAT or in a warehouse environment
- Be able to obtain a government issued Common Access Card (CAC)
- Have reliable transportation with the ability to work onsite.
Addtional desired skill:
- The ideal candidate for this position will be a former Navy Logistics Specialist (LS)
- Former Navy Logistics experience
- Experience with the Hazardous Material Management System (HMMS) is a plus but not required.
In compliance with state and local laws regarding pay transparency, the salary range for this role is $45,892.17 to $68,837.68 however, Serco considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
