About the Job
Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C. is hiring a Procurement Assistant in Richmond, Virginia. The full-time Procurement Assistant is responsible for coordinating and expediting the purchase order system to maintain efficient operation. Seeking candidates with previous administrative experience required. High school diploma or equivalent. College degree a plus.
Requirements for the Procurement Assistant position include:
- Self-starter and able to work with limited supervision.
- Must be able to interact professionally with all levels of personnel at the organization and with the public.
- Must be highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
- Must be able to multi-task and have the ability to prioritize large volume of work to meet competing demands.
- Must be able to work extra hours as needed to meet customer demands.

Physical requirements must be met for the Procurement Assistant job, including the ability sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. Able to lift, carry and maneuver items up to 20 pounds in weight. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
