Process Technician Job Description
Position/Title: Process Technician
Department: Production
Reports To: Production Supervisor $18.72
Schedule - Monday - Wednesday every other Thursday 6am-6pm
Position Summary: Under the direction of the Production Supervisor the Process Technician is responsible for continuous monitoring of all Equipment/Machinery processes to ensure best use of personnel and equipment.
Responsibilities/Duties:
Provide all technical support to manufacturing including root cause identification and correction of scrap issues and documentation of process changes as required
Assist with process improvements as directed by engineering management.
Ensure proper process parameters at shift start.
Complete and distribute all required documentation.
Oversee maintenance activities to ensure completion and understanding.
Ensure efficient material use and minimize waste.
Provide troubleshooting and process control support as needed.
Perform necessary changes (e.g., tape, foam,) for process adjustments.
Follow lockout/tagout procedures.
Perform routine maintenance and hourly checks of critical parameters.
Manage manufacturing functions and end-of-shift inspections of scrap bins.
Communicate effectively with shift supervisors, maintenance personnel, and quality team.
Rotate and learn all operations within the work area.
Process paperwork and ensure employee skill matrix is updated.
Train and cross-train employees to ensure coverage.
Follow safety regulations and maintain clean work areas (6S).
- Comply with plant safety teams’ requirements and housekeeping procedures.
Ensure timely production handoffs and provide feedback on production results. Ability to communicate and understand verbal and written instructions in English
Perform other duties as assigned or required
Specific Knowledge, Skills, Licenses, Certifications, etc.:
Requires a high school diploma/GED
Must have good interpersonal skills/demonstrate strong emphasis on customer service
Ability to meet deadlines; accomplish work in order of priority; professionally maintain composure and effectiveness under pressure and changing conditions while maintaining confidentiality
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift and move object up to 50 pounds consistently with heavier weight necessary at times
Must be able to walk, stand, kneel, bend, and climb to work on equipment. Must be able to use tools to perform repairs
Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus to work
