About the Opportunity:
• Job Title: Process Technician – Operator in Training
• Pay Rate Range: $18-22/Hour
• Location: Rogers, MN
• Schedule: 1st Shift, Mon-Fri 7AM-3PM with optional O/T.
• Position Type: Temp to Hire
Process Technician – Operator in Training Requirements and Qualifications:
- High School diploma with 1 year experience.
- Must be able to effectively communicate, both verbally and written, with the team, coworkers, and managers.
- Must be well organized and able to plan.
- Must be able to work as a team and on their own to complete assigned tasks.
- Must be able to use a computer for data entry.
- Must be able to safely operate both forklifts and clamp trucks.
- Able to lift a minimum of 60 lbs. several times per shift.
- Able to stand/walk for >80% of their shift.
- Able to bend/crouch for >50% of their shift.
Process Technician – Operator in Training Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the set up and maintaining of correct processing conditions such as: correct blends, material crystallization, material drying, and process levels.
- Maintains workflow by monitoring both process and personnel. Communicates any adjustments needed to the production supervisor.
- Effectively work with Maintenance to troubleshoot and minimize any processing or extruder issues.
- Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs, writing maintenance work requests, and assisting both Production and Maintenance in troubleshooting issues.
- Help maintenance with repairs when needed.
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources. Maintains compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Ensure all issues are reported to the Supervisor, including safety and mechanical.
- Pass down all ongoing activities to the oncoming shift, and ensure current work is completed.
- Set up the extruder and heat profiles to maximize throughput, reduce pellet consumption, and minimize degradation of materials.
- Test the quality of the product being made, ensuring the correct mil thickness, sheet width, roll diameter, roll packaging, L.A.B. & haze testing, and silicone levels. Record all findings and correct all non-conformances.
- Set up and maintain correct additive levels. This includes additive letdown at the feed throat as well as silicone or other topical additive percentages.
- Ensure daily paperwork is correct and complete. This includes scrap totals, finished goods, material inputs, rejected products, and drained material.
- Monitor blends and adjust as necessary to maximize production and minimize Maintains safety and quality by enforcing organization standards.
- Any other duty as assigned by the Production Supervisor.
- Reading schedules and planning materials for upcoming jobs such as: cores, deckles, and resin or additives specified by the work order.
- Safely performing daily line maintenance such as: roll cleaning, screen changes, and filter cleaning.
