Job Summary
The Process Technician - Fabrication provides technical support and documentation for the tube fabrication area. The Process Technician is responsible for gathering and analyzing data and generating/leading continuous improvement efforts driven from the data.
Primary Responsibilities
+ Maintain knowledge and programming of tube fabrication equipment
+ Create work instructions and conduct time studies for tube and fabrication areas
+ Train new operators on tube fabrication equipment
+ Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality to resolve tube fabrication process issues
+ Assist with the design & implementation of fixtures and jigs to improve quality, efficiency, and productivity
+ Perform process audits
+ Collect and analyze data to drive continuous improvement initiatives
+ Lead and support A3s and DMAIC projects including opportunity to receive LSS Green Belt
+ Identify root causes and implement corrective actions to reduce/eliminate welding process issues
+ Assess welds to ensure workmanship is at desired levels to meet internal requirements
+ Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
+ 3+ years manufacturing experience required
+ Must have strong computer skills. Demonstrated ability to use MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word
+ Position requires a self-motivated individual who can perform multiple tasks and has strong analytical skills
+ Must be familiar with Lean Six Sigma and associated problem-solving tools
+ Communicate effectively and in a professional manner with all functional areas in the facility
+ Must be able to use hand tools and large stationary equipment such as bandsaws and/or upcut saws
+ Weld experience nice to have but not required. Training provided.
+ Flexibility for overtime, including some weekends, as needed (often tied to production schedule)
Education Requirements – High school diploma or GED required. 2-year technical degree preferred.
Physical Requirements – Lift up to 30 lbs. up to 60% of shift and 50 lbs. up to 30% of shift, push/pull up to 30 lbs.
Travel Requirements – 0% - 10%
