Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain Process Safety Management (PSM) programs, procedures, and systems to meet regulatory compliance and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant safety regulations.
- Coordinate with various departments to develop and implement corrective actions for identified safety and environmental issues.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on safety procedures, hazard identification, and risk mitigation.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
- Participate in the design and review of new equipment and processes to ensure safety considerations are incorporated.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of safety procedures, incident reports, and compliance records.
- Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies during inspections and audits.
- Collaborate with emergency response teams in handling HAZMAT situations.
- Continuously monitor industry trends, updates in regulations, and best practices in process safety management to ensure the organization remains at the forefront of safety performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Safety, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in process safety management within the chemical manufacturing industry.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant safety and environmental regulations.
- Certified in HAZMAT handling or a similar certification is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough safety audits and risk assessments.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to train and guide staff on safety procedures.
- Proven track record in leading incident investigations and implementing effective corrective actions.
- Proficient in the use of safety management software and tools.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong commitment to promoting a culture of safety within the organization.
