About the Job
IFG is a diverse, multi-disciplinary engineering, procurement and construction firm providing complete facility services from concept and site selection to startup. Our in-house design team provides full design services from preliminary design to full construction documents and services during construction.
The Process Construction Manager will coordinate, manage, and oversee activities pertaining to the process piping of industrial construction projects from start to finish as well as work with customers, design consultants, subcontractors, and engineers to assist in making decisions on behalf of the project team.
Primary Responsibilities
- Ensure projects are constructed and documented in accordance with the contract documents and good engineering practices.
- Develop and maintain project cost/change controls, and project budget and accounting records as well as perform change order estimating and assist in change order negotiations.
- Coordinate and monitor schedule updates, staffing needs, invoices and submittals while communicating project status on a regular basis.
- Direct and motivate subcontractors and staff engaged in planning and executing work procedures while directing jobsite office operations and procedures.
- Collaborate with involved parties to resolve problems, including work procedures and construction or design issues.
- Ensure safety standards and guidelines are followed on the jobsite and that all safety codes are met in construction.
- Effectively collaborate with others to delivery a quality product on schedule and within budget.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of related experience in industrial construction projects with strong problem-solving and communication skills, as well as attention to detail.
- Experience working with manufacturing customers in a variety of settings.
- Must be able to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents.
- Experience with process piping.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Work Environment
While performing this job, the employee is required to frequently inspect the project and may be exposed to ongoing construction and various weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and listen. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must also occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and color vision.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are specific to each project. Some flexibility in hours may be allowed, but this position may require long hours at times.
