This is for 2nd shift technician with laser welding experience.
This will be a Duel role where the candidate will run production, but also provide 2nd shift technician support for equipment downtime events or preventative maintenance, as required.

The engineering technician position is in support of the manufacture and process development of Aerospace, Bi-metal Thermostats used in the Aerospace, Defense and other related industries at our Attleboro, MA facility.
Detailed Description:
This is for 2nd shift technician with laser welding experience.
This will be a Duel role where the candidate will run production, but also provide 2nd shift technician support for equipment downtime events or preventative maintenance, as required.
- Primary function is to support all aspects of our manufacturing process with focus of production support for YAG laser welding operations.
- Work with Manufacturing Supervisors & Engineers to set up manufacturing equipment, make minor repairs to equipment and fixturing, and perform Preventive Maintenance as required.
- Must be able to work with all folks in the manufacturing process including production operators, supervisors, engineering, as well as other technicians.
- Address continuous improvement activities to reduce material scrap and improve yields.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. in material or chemical containers.
- Service of oil stand systems and material changeover, where needed.
- Repair & maintenance of precision production calibration systems.
- ASME or equivalent 2-yr Associates degree preferred.
- The job will require technical learning ability and strong mechanical build and testing talents.
- The work requires the responsibility for complex electro-mechanical product lines with many product types.
- As this is an off-shift position, the candidate will work closely with manufacturing team to sustain equipment operation as unplanned downtime events arise, including but not limited to troubleshooting & repair with limited supervision.
- Strong mechanical background (e.g. welding, pneumatics, machining) and familiarity with bimetal disc making, laser welding, resistance welding and clean room operations.
- Laser, TIG, and resistance welding experience vital
- Machining skills on a range of machine shop tools (drills, presses, lathes, etc.)
- Equipment set-up
- Computer skills (Excel, Word, SolidWorks etc.),
- Good written and verbal communications skills
