Purpose of the Position:
This position performs duties as an internal project manager for major projects including capital expansion, client process transfer, and scale-up. The role also includes developing and improving complex systems such as equipment turnover, validation, cleaning, personnel exposure controls, and Engineering documentation. The position is also responsible to Program Managers for scheduling of Engineering resources, and will train and develop more junior staff on the requisite Engineering support skills. This position will become involved with major CAPA investigations and will serve as the first line responder on manufacturing issue escalation. This is a hands-on role, and the incumbent will also serve as the Engineering lead on key technical projects.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Provide technical guidance to Process/Project Engineers as required or requested.
- Assist the department head with timely and effective allocation of engineering resources.
- Serve as individual contributor on critical technical projects.
- Serve as internal project manager on key topics assigned
- Analyze metrics in areas such as equipment failure, and present periodic KPI summaries to Management Team.
- Provide weekly status reports to department head on key Engineering group projects.
- Provide on-the-floor manufacturing support as appropriate.
- Provide technical support to other departments as Engineering subject matter expert.
- Obtain expert knowledge on new and existing process equipment.
- Train technical personnel in the use, care and safety of Manufacturing and Facilities assets.
- Lead/collaborate on major CAPA investigations and develop effective countermeasures
- Provide clear, concise technical summaries and reports
- Provide technical direction on processes such as commissioning, validation, safety, and CI.
Job Knowledge Required:

B.S. Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical engineering.

Demonstrated project and team leadership skills.

Effective verbal and written technical communication skills

Knowledge of mechanical/electrical engineering concepts required with previous cGMP experience preferred.
