JOB SUMMARYJob Profile SummaryPerforms specialized engineering and/or project management duties related to one or more functional areas that may include: pipeline system planning and analysis, gathering system operation; gas and liquids measurement, gas analysis, and measurement station design; processing and/or storage facility operation; and/or estimating, designing, and coordinating construction projects.Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesDirect, perform, coordinate and/or approve engineering and/or project management activities related to design, procurement, construction, or optimization of company assets including but not limited to:Transmission and/or gathering systems, measurement and regulation facilities, compressor and pump stations and dehydration plantsNGL fractionation, natural gas processing and/or hydrocarbon storage facilitiesConstruction plans and implementationProvide technical and/or engineering assistance on matters including but not limited to:Equipment/system designPipeline sizing and evaluation­Pipeline controlPipeline facility design, construction, operation, and maintenancePolicies and proceduresProcess SafetyDirect, perform and review and/or approve project management activities including but not limited to:Bid proposals and contractsAFE preparation and cost managementManagement of Change (MOC)Material/equipment specifications and selectionConstruction plans and supportCreating and updating schedules / timelinesPreparing project progress and other reportsManaging change ordersReview work by engineers regarding equipment efficiencies, hydraulic calculations, valve and pipe sizing and gas flow analysis.Research, analyze, prepare and/or approve information including but not limited to:Engineering studiesGovernmental rules, regulations, codes, and standardsPipeline and/or measurement system analyses and recommendationsHydrocarbon processing and/or measurement bid proposalsConstruction and/or measurement contractsCost estimatesMaterial specifications/selectionsOversee analysis and evaluation of various pipeline systems and review recommendations for improvements related to capacity, operating costs, and system operation.
Act as a subject matter expert to the organization for various engineering activities; mentor less experienced engineersEvaluate proposed projects by conducting load studiesReview and create standard drawings for various measurement system designs and make recommendations for improvements related to station capacity and operating costs, to increase accuracy of measurement system and downstream reporting systemsAnalyze and perform economic analysis related to potential new projects, including but not limited to operational cost estimates, determining equipment efficiencies, and needed enhancements and conducting studies for potential acquisitionsRecommend new processes and formulate new ideas; take lead role during implementation of new processesAnticipate changes in work demands and identify assignments or training to meet those demands.Oversee utilization of manpower and equipment resourcesAssess, schedule, and prioritize projects on customer needs and value to the organizationMay have oversight of employees engaged in field operations, construction and/or project management functionEducationBachelor's Degree in Engineering or closely related field and the following job-related experience preferred: Work Experience Experience and training related to: Transmission/gathering pipeline operations Gas measurement and regulation activities Processing and/or storage operations Company/governmental operating and safety procedures Pipeline stress/strain analysis Industry best practices and design philosophy Experience and knowledge of engineering design and criteria for natural gas and/or NGLs in pipeline systems Experience at this level is typically attained with ten or more years of experience in engineering, operations and/or project management Experience achieving goals and developing employee/team strengths, exhibiting a positive example and influence that leads to employee, project, and stakeholder successes Experience in use and function of applications such as: Microsoft Excel, Project, Access, Word, etc.
