About the Job
Responsibilities :
- Research, design, and develop processes to optimize productivity and workflow.
- Product scale-up from R&D into Production. Create and develop new product procedures and make modifications as necessary for current products.
- Assist in formulation, manufacturing process development, and scale-up of products from lab to production.
- Oversee the implementation of current and new processes and procedures.
- Collect and analyze data to find improvements and new innovations in the process.
- Working with R&D and QC to help establish QC parameters necessary for quality control of new products and improve/adjust QC parameters of current products as necessary.
- Prepare batch formula in coordination with the production scheduling department.
- Work to minimize and or eliminate product variation thus improving quality and reducing scrap/rework.
- Investigate and troubleshoot problems that arise from customer complaints, processes, procedures, and/or operations of new and current products.
- Provide manufacturing support and troubleshooting.
- Provide day-to-day manufacturing and quality support including observation of first-time production runs, root cause investigation of off-spec production batches and development of sustainable corrective actions.
- Contribute to the development of health and safety standards and promote/support the implementation of ISO standards.
- Hands-on work with plant equipment, chemicals, and machinery.
- Communicate ideas and findings to the Production Manager and colleagues. Work together to implement process modifications and new approaches.
- Using excellent written and verbal communication skills develop professional relationships with all departments involved in product manufacturing.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- BS in Chemistry or Engineering, MS degree a plus.
- 5 years of relevant work experience preferred.
- Statistical Process Control and Root Cause Analysis experience.
- High commitment to safety.
- Demonstrated ability to work with others in a team setting.
- Must be collaborative, team player, but also be able to lead as necessary.
- Strong verbal and written skills.
- Must be comfortable wearing a hardhat/steel toes PPE every day.
- Strong analytical, technical and strategic thinking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis and develop sustainable corrective actions.
- ISO 9001 and Management experience a plus.
- Microsoft Office knowledge.
