We are currently looking for an experienced manufacturing Process Engineer. This hands-on Process Engineer is needed for an on-site position within the engineering department in a manufacturing facility known for excellence in the wire and cable industry.

We are currently looking for an experienced Process Engineer.
Responsibilities:
- Hands on Process Engineer needed for on-site position within engineering department in a manufacturing facility known for excellence in the wire and cable industry.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards for new or existing business.
- Project tasks consist of such things but not limited to creating PFMEA/ Control plans, developing manufacturing processes, writing specifications, reviewing equipment proposals, and evaluating or selecting equipment and preparing various lists, such as equipment and materials lists, and drawings.
- Provide technical support for all departments, follow and document process conditions for samples; aid and support based upon knowledge of department to resolve problems and reduce downtime. Provide operator training in support of set-up instructions and test procedures.
- Assist in process problems solving and provide technical assistance and have a working knowledge of manufacturing, and issues that are related to either the material of construction, product use environment, or the process of manufacturing.
- Follow and document process conditions for samples and first run production.
- Detect and report defective materials, malfunctioning equipment, unusual conditions to supervision. Observe all safety rules and regulations.
- Support existing products by assisting manufacturing and QA in solving product problems
- Creates and implements manufacturing and engineering processes and methods for new or existing product.
- Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency.
- Analyzes scrap trends and creates project plans with timeline lines and measurable goals which are in-line with EIS business objectives using engineering techniques and analysis.
- Understand the relationships between process parameters, material characteristics and conductor performances.
- Leads efforts to continuously improve efficiencies, product cost, product quality and scrap in accordance with strategic business objectives.
- Maintains a presence in the factory and provide hands on troubleshooting of manufacturing processes and equipment to drive root cause analysis and corrective action using engineering techniques.
- Develop and/or modify manufacturing processes to increase product performance, reduce process and quality related scrap, improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Develop optimized Process Standards and procedures such as One-Point Lessons, Visual Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.
Qualifications:
- B.S. Degree in Engineering or related technical field
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent writing, verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical issues. Strong ability to lead multiple and simultaneous projects.
- Experience with some of the following software would be beneficial: MS-Project, Mathcad ®, Cable Builder®, Solid Works®, Minitab®Very
- Process-oriented individual with strong experience in documentation, process standardization, creating Work Instructions, SOP’s, etc.
- Understand the relationships between process parameters, material characteristics and product performance. Creates projects and trials plans to determine the root-cause of processing issues and scrap.
- Cross Train with Product Engineers and Quality/Environmental Engineers
- Ability to be flexible in a fast-paced environment, demonstrated technical capacity, use of problem-solving skills and project management.
- Maintain customer service levels and lasting relationships with customers in a diverse range of industries
- Strong communication, interpersonal, planning, organizational, and decision-making skills
- Perform other similar duties as responsibilities necessitate or as assigned by supervisor.
Required Qualifications:
- B.S. in Engineering
- 3+ yrs. manufacturing experience
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Microsoft Office experience
- Strong creativity and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to professionally interact with internal and external customers
Preferred Qualifications:
- Wire and Cable industry experience
- Continuous improvement mindset
- 6 Sigma Green belt, Black belt
- Lean Manufacturing Training
- Experience with Design of Experiment’s (DOE) and Statistical Process Control is a plus
