We are seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development and optimization of layer deposition processes for ceramics and metals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in materials science, engineering, and a proven track record in process development and implementation. You will play a critical role in driving process efficiency, yield improvement, and cost reduction while ensuring product quality and reliability. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and optimization of clean energy.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize layer deposition processes for ceramic and metal materials, including plasma and or wire arc spray, sputtering, atomic layer deposition (ALD), physical vapor deposition (PVD), and electroplating.
- Conduct process characterization and failure analysis to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define process requirements and develop process flow in production.
- Implement statistical process control (SPC) and other quality control measures to monitor process performance and ensure product consistency.
- Conduct process scale-up and transfer activities to support high-volume manufacturing.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in layer deposition technologies and materials.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency, yield, and cost-effectiveness.
- Maintain detailed process documentation and generate reports on process performance and development.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities-REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's or Master's in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in layer deposition processes for ceramics and metals.
- In-depth knowledge of electro plating, plasma, wire arc flame spray processes, sputtering, ALD, and PVD techniques.
- Strong understanding of materials science principles and their application to process development.
- Hands-on experience with process equipment and instrumentation.
- Proficiency in data analysis and statistical process control (SPC).
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities – PREFERRED:
- Experience with thin film characterization techniques (e.g., SEM, XRD, optical).
- Knowledge of semiconductor or related industry processes.
- Experience with design of experiments (DOE) and statistical data analysis.
- Project management experience.
