Additionally, the Process Engineer will oversee new product development within their designated area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Leadership: Enforce safety protocols and promote good housekeeping to maintain a safe workplace.
- Technical Support: Provide timely support to enhance quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Operational Issue Resolution: Address and resolve operational issues in the assigned department and participate in cross-functional teams.
- Production Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot production issues affecting downstream areas.
- Shift Supervision: Act as Shift Supervisor for vacation relief and assist with energy efficiency and environmental impact improvements.
- Technology Implementation: Implement new process or chemical technologies, assess raw materials, and provide performance and cost feedback.
- Interdepartmental Collaboration: Build and maintain relationships with operations, maintenance, sales, and marketing departments, and address customer quality concerns.
- Vendor Management: Work with vendors to enhance technology with better products and services, managing chemical performance, cost, and application.
- Chemical Oversight: Oversee chemical usage and systems, contribute to safety improvements, outage execution, and weekend duty coverage.
- Staff Management: Manage assigned staff, assist in laboratory testing, and resolve quality issues.
- Quality Improvement: Identify root causes and corrective actions for quality and production deficiencies.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Education: B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Pulp and Paper, or a related Engineering field.
- Experience: Preferably 1+ years in paper manufacturing.
- Skills: Strong analytical, technical, communication, documentation, and computer skills.
- Integrity: High level of integrity with the ability to inspire trust and drive continuous improvement.
- Leadership: Proven ability to manage conflict and effectively lead others.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work rotating shifts (8 or 12-hour shifts) and supervise hourly employees as needed.
- Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
