Responsibilities:
This process engineer role will support the design of process systems for facilities infrastructure projects in advanced manufacturing and related industries. The role may lead junior staff or may be working under the guidance of more senior staff depending on project type and requirements. Project work is ongoing through all phases including programming, schematic design, design development, construction documents, construction administration and project close-out.
System types include process water (Reverse Osmosis, Deionization, Ultrapure Water), waste water treatment (Acid Waste Neutralization, HF Waste Water Treatment, Copper Waste Water Treatment), various water reclaim systems, UHP Chemical delivery and distribution, Waste Chem Collection and Transfer, UHP Spec Gas delivery and distribution, and Process Mechanical Systems (Acid and Base Exhaust, Organic Exhaust, Bulk Gasses, Process Cooling Water).
- Create project documents to aid in communication and decision making
- Perform and document engineering calculations
- Create (or direct creation of) hydraulic and pipe stress models and validate results
- Conceptualize process system requirements and communicate overall system design using block flow diagrams or other means as needed
- Review and markup P&IDs, equipment and piping plan drawings
- Write and edit reports for engineering studies, Basis of Design documents, and narratives for non-technical audience explaining engineering concepts to facilitate decision-making
- Communicate and coordinate with clients, multi-discipline teams, contractors
- Occasional domestic and international travel may be required
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- BS in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
- 2-8 years of previous experience with process systems in the semiconductor, petrochemical, or bio/pharmaceutical industries
- EIT certification required, PE licensure preferred
- Familiarity with Revit, NavisWorks, Pipe-Flo, Caesar or Autopipe pipe stress software, Bluebeam a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
