Top 3 Must Have Skill Sets:
• 1. Proficiency in at least one scripting languages and associated packages, including but not limited to R or Python.
Proficiency in advanced data querying languages, such as SQL, etc
2. Expertise with standard statistical and data visualization tools, including but not limited to JMP, Spotfire, Tableau, and MATLAB.
3. Basic wet lab skills and experience (cell culture skill is a plus)..

Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Applied Math, Computer Science, Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Life Sciences, or other relevant sciences. Open to internship experience or nice to have 1 year of experience in the industry.

The Pre-Pivotal Drug Substance Technologies organization develops, characterizes, and supports clinical drug substance manufacturing processes for all early-stage programs in the portfolio.
This hybrid position is located at our Thousand Oaks, CA site. The successful candidate will be responsible for support of the development, characterization, scale-up and support of upstream and downstream processes to enable clinical advancement of programs.
This role is in an integrated bioprocess development group in which cell culture and purification scientists work together to advance rich, exciting and dynamic pipeline. With biology first approach, the position provides the unique opportunity to work on multiple modalities including antibodies, BiTEs, oncolytic viruses, bispecifics, and siRNAs.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in the analytics of chemical and biological datasets. Specifically, the candidate will support cross-platform analysis of bioprocessing data, build automated data pipelines and databases, and develop and deploy new analysis methods to mine and integrate internal data. The candidate will also support the design and execution of experiments at the bench scale, including both cell culture and purification operations. Additionally, the candidate will utilize out-of-the-box thinking to contribute to technology development, including process and data automation.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree
OR
Associate degree and 4 years scientific experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Applied Math, Computer Science, Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Life Sciences, or other relevant sciences with a demonstrated record of excellence.
Prior experience with data analytical tools (Excel, Spotfire, JMP, Tableau, MATLAB, etc.) and proficiency in scripting languages, such as R or Python, are essential.
Ability to identify, develop and implement solutions to practical problems through application of fundamental scientific and engineering principles, preferably in a process development environment.
Basic understanding of protein chromatography, filtration, or cell culture principle.
Motivated self-starter with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Team player with the ability to successfully work within a diverse team in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.
Familiarity with design of experiments and statistical analysis of data desirable.
Basic Qualifications:
0+ Years w/ Relevant BS OR equivalent 2+ Years w/ Relevant AS OR equivalent 4+ Years w/ HS Foundational knowledge of technical principles, theories, and concepts to perfformroutine work in a role
Day to Day Responsibilities:
1. Develop and maintain data analysis pipelines, including implementation and deployment of databases.
2. Design and execute experiments at the bench scale in the lab.
3. Contribute and communicate technology development, including process automation.
