ARCO/Murray National Construction is seeking a highly motivated Project Manager who is passionate about the design/build construction process to join our Agriculture Controlled Environment or ACE team based in Chicago, IL. A DAY IN THE LIFE:- Perform commissioning on mechanical, electrical, controls, irrigation systems, and process systems.
- Project types include Controlled Environments Agriculture, Waste-to-Value, Manufacturing, Commercial, Laundry, Entertainment, and more.
- Act as the bridge between design and construction teams; coordinate system design and installation with clients, subcontractors, and equipment vendors in a way that ensures the seamless turnover of a controlled environment project.
- Serve as the technical engineering resource for the project team.
- Create and execute pre-commissioning equipment checklists to maintain state-of-the-art quality system installations.
- Create and execute commissioning test scripts that verify correct operation of the installed systems.
- Review controls designs at a very granular level and provide solutions on the required changes needed to meet the design intent.
- Lead project commissioning meetings that accurately set expectations and coordinate schedules for all trades.
- Effectively convey information to onsite superintendents and subcontractors using employee’s knowledge of the project’s systems.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (with a focus in Mechanical, Electrical, or similar) & a minimum GPA of 3.2
- 4+ years of experience designing and/or commissioning industrial process, manufacturing process, or similar systems
- Highly entrepreneurial and self-motivated, with the ability to successfully work on own
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with an adaptable and flexible style in working with different types of individuals
- Comfortable with spending time on construction jobsite – approximately 25%
- Familiar with construction practices and principles
