Job Details:
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Permanent Procedure Scheduler for our healthcare team. In this role, you will be a vital cog in the healthcare delivery system, ensuring that surgeries and other medical procedures are scheduled efficiently and accurately. You will be working closely with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure that all procedures are scheduled and coordinated effectively. This is a full-time position that requires excellent organizational skills, a high degree of accuracy, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Schedule surgeries and other medical procedures, coordinating between various departments, doctors, and other healthcare professionals.
2. Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for procedures.
3. Communicate with patients about their upcoming procedures, including providing reminders, answering questions, and addressing any concerns.
4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including procedure details, patient information, and insurance details.
5. Coordinate with surgical teams to ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are available for scheduled procedures.
6. Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts and other issues in a timely and efficient manner.
7. Provide excellent customer service to patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
8. Adhere to all HIPAA and other privacy regulations in all aspects of work.
9. Continually seek ways to improve the scheduling process and enhance efficiency and patient satisfaction.
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred.
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in surgery scheduling or a similar role in the healthcare industry.
3. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
4. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
5. Proficiency in using medical software and technology, including electronic health records systems.
6. Understanding of medical terminology, especially as it relates to surgical procedures.
7. Familiarity with insurance verification and authorization processes.
8. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
9. Demonstrated ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
10. Commitment to providing excellent customer service and improving patient satisfaction.
