Since 1976, St. Joseph Center has been meeting the needs of low-income and homeless individuals and families in Venice, Santa Monica, Mar Vista, and surrounding communities. The Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community organization that assists people without regard for religious affiliation or lack thereof through comprehensive case management and integrated social service programs. The Center enjoys broad-based community support as well as a sponsored relationship with its founders, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. St. Joseph Center serves approximately 6,000 individuals annually.
Brief Description of Principal Activities
Multifaceted intervention, prevention, and education services are carried out at four sites on the Westside of Los Angeles. St. Joseph Center’s integrated programs provide clients with concentrated and coordinated access to services according to the nature of their needs.
The Family Solution Center Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations and staff at the SPA 5 Family Solution Center, an Access Center specifically serving the family population in West Los Angeles. This role includes direct supervision of the Problem Solving intervention and staff, Family Response Team staff, and ensuring the smooth execution of Family Solution Center services to support homeless families with resources, service linkage, and housing solutions. The Program Manager will lead efforts to create a welcoming and supportive environment for families while ensuring program goals are met and services align with the organization’s mission.
Job DescriptionESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Program Manager’s key areas of responsibility include:
Key Areas of Responsibility:
1. Program Oversight:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the Family Solution Center, ensuring efficient and timely service delivery to homeless families.
- Supervise the Problem Solving (HPS) intervention, ensuring the program follows best practices and meets performance targets.
- Manage the Family Response Team, providing oversight, support, and guidance to staff who assist families in crisis.
2. Staff Supervision & Development:
- Supervise HPS and Family Response Team staff, conducting regular check-ins, performance evaluations, and providing professional development opportunities.
- Ensure adequate staffing and appropriate caseload distribution among team members.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment that encourages teamwork and staff retention.
3. Service Delivery & Client Support:
- Ensure all services provided at the Family Solution Center are client-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive.
- Monitor service delivery to ensure families receive comprehensive support, including problem-solving resources, housing assistance, and case management.
- Troubleshoot client service issues and provide high-level problem-solving support to staff.
4. Operations Management:
- Oversee daily operations of the Family Solution Center, including coordination with facilities management, budget oversight, and compliance with organizational and contractual policies and procedures.
- Track program outcomes, maintain data accuracy, and generate reports for leadership and funders.
- Work with leadership to develop, update, and implement program policies and procedures.
5. Collaboration & Partnerships:
- Build and maintain relationships with partner organizations, service providers, and community stakeholders to enhance program effectiveness and resource availability.
- Collaborate with the Development team on program funding opportunities and reporting requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external stakeholders regarding Family Solution Center services.
6. Program Evaluation & Improvement:
- Continuously assess the effectiveness of the Family Solution Center’s services and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Implement data-driven program adjustments and innovations to better serve homeless families.
- Lead efforts to evaluate client outcomes and program impacts, ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic goals.
- Participating in other St. Joseph Center community, administrative and fundraising activities as necessary.

QualificationsKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Must be highly motivated and a self-starter. Must have the ability to communicate with and relate to a diverse group of people including clients, community, and other staff. Must have excellent administrative and organizational skills.
- Must show demonstrated ability to manage and supervise professional and para-professional staff while handling multiple tasks and relating to diverse groups.
- Strong knowledge of Problem-Solving practices and homelessness prevention.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and family services.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and lead a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a social services or nonprofit setting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Experience working with homeless populations, housing interventions, or similar client-focused services.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Non-Profit Management, Human Services, or related field (Master’s preferred).
Direct Reports:
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Computer Skills:
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and widely supported internet browsers.
- Ability to collect and analyze data.
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:
- Valid California Class C Drivers License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
- Valid automobile liability insurance.
Travel Requirements:
- 25%

Additional Information
Status: Full-time/Exempt
Salary: $60,000 - $65,000
