Title: Private Equity Senior Accountant II
Location: Regional opportunity in the Northeastern United States
Description:
We are seeking an experienced Private Equity Senior Accountant II to oversee financial reporting, capital calls, and distributions, while managing a team of accounting professionals. This role involves ensuring compliance with client agreements, maintaining strong client relationships, and providing mentorship to team members. The ideal candidate will excel in financial analysis, problem-solving, and client service within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Oversee journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy.
Review quarterly and annual reporting packages and financial statements.
Manage capital call and distribution processes, ensuring timely delivery to clients and investors.
Communicate with clients to establish deadlines and meet deliverables as per agreements.
Review wire transfers, waterfall calculations, and management fee computations.
Lead new client onboarding and provide ongoing support.
Mentor and train team members, offering technical guidance and leadership.
Manage special projects and client requests.
Required Skills:
Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Strong client service abilities and relationship-building skills.
Advanced technical proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite and financial systems.
Ability to handle complex accounting procedures, analyze data, and prepare work papers.
Exceptional organizational and multitasking capabilities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field (Advanced degree preferred).
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation strongly preferred.
Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Expertise in private equity accounting, including distributions, capital calls, and waterfall calculations.
Familiarity with partnership accounting software (e.g., Investran) is a plus.
