We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Accounting Manager to join our team in the Real Estate and Investment Management industry. This is a permanent, hybrid position, offering you the flexibility to work from both remotely and on-site. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing the company's accounting operations, including fund accounting, fund management, and asset management. This position is critical to our business and requires a professional with a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and a keen attention to detail.
The ideal candidate will have a strong Fund Accounting background, public accounting experience, a CPA, and/or property/real estate accounting. This position is hybrid and can offer office locations in either Annapolis, DC, or Baltimore.

Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial close.
2. Oversee the maintenance of investor capital accounts and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and reported.
3. Manage and oversee all aspects of fund accounting, including reconciliations, financial reporting, and audit coordination.
4. Handle foreign exchange entries and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
5. Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of accounting operations.
6. Collaborate with senior management to develop financial strategies and make recommendations based on financial analysis and projections.
7. Manage and monitor the company's assets, ensuring they are correctly valued and accounted for.
8. Prepare and present financial reports to the management team, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
9. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal tax filings and reporting requirements.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. An advanced degree is preferred.
2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
3. A minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting management role, preferably in the Mortgage industry.
4. Proven experience with fund accounting, fund management, asset management, and maintaining investor capital accounts.
5. Strong knowledge of foreign exchange entries and financial close procedures.
6. Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
7. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
8. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information clearly.
9. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
10. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
