Printing Press Operator from Apidel Technologies LLC

Job Description:

• Under general supervision, the prepress technician is responsible for processing customer-supplied electronic (graphic) files for offset or digital printing.
• Use preflight software to check incoming work to determine if all job elements conform to required printing specifications.
• Able to identify missing or problematic components related to image, color, size, margins, bleeds, and branding compliance.
• Provide typesetting and layouts for client-requested projects.
• Create high-quality proofs for customer approvals.
• As needed, assist in mass mail, bindery, or other print center tasks.
• Achieves production and quality standards by observing equipment operations
• Detects malfunctions and deviations and adjusts controls to correct
• Controls costs by conserving use of equipment and supplies

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or comparable work experience
• 3+ years' experience working in a press room or printing studio
• Computer experience required (Mac experience required)
• Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, RIP, Enfocus Pitstop, and impositions software
• Knowledge of pagination (readers spreads and printer spreads).
