About the Job
The Leslie Company is a national manufacture of custom imprinted presentation products. We have been located in the Kansas City area since 1977. We are seeking Print Production Specialist / Bindery Operator on our 1st shift team.
Job Purpose:
Maintains copy room operations by receiving requests; operating and adjusting equipment; maintaining quality, supplies, and equipment.
Duties:
* Organizes copy room work by receiving, collecting, and logging requests; establishing and maintaining work priority.
* Maintains copy room schedule by operating and adjusting equipment; replenishing supplies; completing bindery requirements.
* Maintains quality by monitoring equipment operation; completing preventive maintenance; troubleshooting failures; calling for repairs.
* Maintains equipment by examining production; making equipment adjustments.
* Maintains supplies by checking stock to determine inventory levels; anticipating requirements; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt; stocking items; delivering supplies to work stations.
* Supports operations by delivering orders.
* Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
* Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Duties:
- Understands printing job requirements by studying job specifications.
- Safely operate multiple digital machines simultaneously.
- Maintains production and quality by inspecting random production samples; loading paper; adjusting settings and controls; correcting jams and tears.
- Provide material handling for incoming and outbound jobs of the digital press area.
- Perform other bindery operations as needed such as cutting, drilling, collating and packing.
- Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a digital press operator preferred, but not required.
- PC Proficiency
