Who We Are:
We are the Fuels and Lubricants Division! We are a diverse team tasked with providing high quality instrumentation support for one of the largest independent fuels and lubes testing facilities in the world. By joining our team, you will receive $500.00 in your first paycheck (minus applicable taxes).
Objectives of this Role:
- Our objective is to provide the most accurate data to our clients through careful maintenance and calibrations of our machines and control systems.
- Design, modify and construct instrument systems to support new testing requirements.
- Make repairs and suggest design improvements on existing instrumentation systems and processes.
- Perform all duties while complying with all quality and safety standards.
- Some tasks will require working solo, while others will be with fellow team members.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
- Be part of a team that performs both routine and unique calibrations throughout the division while maintaining excellent quality records.
- We have a mature preventive maintenance program which helps us with providing consistent testing and minimizes down time and crisis situations.
- There will be ample opportunities to utilize your troubleshooting skills. Disciplines include instrumentation, electronics, electrical, pneumatics, plumbing and mechanical.
- We have a high standard of quality for fabrication and possess talented craft technicians on our team.
- Communicate daily with SwRI project leaders, staff, clients, and vendors regarding work status, progress, problem/solutions, and testing results.
Requirements:
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Continued education, such as an Associates degree or coursework related to Electronics, Instrumentation, Automation, or similar preferred.
- 5-15 years: Experience in the Instrumentation field and/or related technical field including comprehensive knowledge in troubleshooting, calibrations, and use of hand tools.
- 5-15 years: Experience using computer software including Microsoft Office Applications e.g., Excel and MS Word, and other custom programs that are used for communicating and configuring specialized instruments.
- 5-15 years: Must be able to interpret schematics, electronic diagrams, manuals as well as written and spoken instructions.
- A valid/clear driver's license is required.
