WHAT YOU WILL DO
Your role as a Principal Systems Engineer involves leveraging your expertise in innovative systems and software engineering to support the development and modernization of mission applications. You will engage in research, rapid prototyping, and analysis of alternatives, as well as develop proof of concepts. Additionally, you'll provide integration support for Distributed Edge Architecture, enhancing our capabilities to deliver advanced and efficient solutions tailored to specific mission needs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading efforts in research, rapid prototyping, and the development of innovative systems solutions.
- Conducting analyses of alternatives and developing proof of concepts to support the modernization of mission applications.
- Contributing significantly to systems engineering documentation and participating actively in system design and review sessions to ensure robust integration and functionality.
- Playing a central role in requirement development and allocation across system components, aligning technical actions with strategic mission goals.
- Overseeing the maintenance and evolution of system baselines through comprehensive lifecycle management.
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU WILL BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline is required, with twenty (20) years’ experience as a System Engineer in similar scope and complexity. Four (4) additional years of SE experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.
- Demonstrated experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts.
- Proficiency in using the Linux Command Line Interface (CLI).
- Skilled in scripting with Bash or Python.
- General technical knowledge of High-Performance Computing (HPC), including compute, network, memory, and storage components.
- Experience in creating and maintaining system architecture diagrams, configuration details, and operational procedures.
- Knowledge of Configuration Management principles and concepts.
- Demonstrated project management skills to plan, manage, execute, and complete projects.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and automation tools, as well as CI/CD best practices and tools.
