Our team is transforming healthcare by incubating and delivering data and analytics services to improve health outcomes at scale. We are a part of the Microsoft Cloud & AI division building Azure Health Data Services, a suite of cloud services including FHIR Server, DICOM Server, and MedTech Server. We are growing to support additional healthcare scenarios and data types that enable our customers to derive more valuable insights and intelligence from their data. We're looking for an experienced engineer to join our team and help define/build future health data services. You should be experienced in the design, development and running of large-scale cloud services. You should have a proven track record of driving technical engagements with internal and external stakeholders and be able to create clarity from ambiguity. In addition, you should have agility in decision making, flexibility in the way you work, and a growth mindset in all that you do. **Responsibilities** Responsibilties include the following: • Lead the architecture, design, implementation and delivery of an enterprise cloud service. • Partner with program management, other engineering teams, customers, and various external stakeholders to define requirements, scope work, and design/deliver solutions. • Propose novel approaches for unsolved problems in the area of genomics and bioinformatics. • Lead others by exemplifying technical excellence, inclusiveness, teamwork, and customer focus. **Qualifications** Required: • 10+ years of industry experience building and shipping production software • 7+ years of experience building software systems in the cloud Preferred: • A graduate degree (e.g. MS or PhD) OR a proven track record in computer science, computational biology, bioinformatics, genomics or similar • Domain expertise in health-related technology and solutions • Experience in Perl, Python or R • Proficiency in C#, .NET, Azure • Experience with large datasets and AI/ML architectures and processes • Deep understanding of health data and information, including standards such as FHIR, HL7 v2.x, v3.x, OMOP • Experience with Agile/Scrum and Azure DevOps or similar tools • Keen awareness and ability to stay abreast of technical and scientific trends Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
