The Azure Kubernetes Service for Edge team (AKS on HCI) is creating a world-class container management and orchestration services for On-Premise Clouds and Enterprise Datacenters. We just released our public preview of AKS on Azure Stack HCI, Microsoft's rapidly growing hyperconverged infrastructure solution. Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) is a multi-billion dollar market and is the hottest topic in on-premises server space. We are the team working on container solutions for Azure Edge on both Linux and Windows. Our charter is to define the next generation of cloud-native infrastructure for Azure Edge. We are looking for software engineers who are excited about containers, and container orchestration with Kubernetes. Who also have a passion for building DevOps tools that make it easier for people to build, deploy and scale their software on the Azure Edge. Container technologies and platforms such as Kubernetes are literally exploding in popularity. Developers love being able to build, ship, and run their applications with ease and numerous businesses are moving their server applications to Containers in order to benefit from the extra agility, control, and portability that they offer. Our team is right at the forefront of this technological shift, defining and implementing the next generation platform for Containers and Software Defined Datacenter. Our team has strong partnerships both within and outside Microsoft. We work closely with Azure Compute, core Windows teams, Hyper-V, Azure Stack HCI, and with many external partners such as Kubernetes and Docker. As a team, we welcome smart, motivated engineers, with a positive attitude and growth mindset, ready to translate ambiguity into concrete deliverables that move the needle for the customer. + Advance the capabilities of Kubernetes and auxiliary components on AKS on HCI. + Improve quality of service for Microsoft Azure Kubernetes Service on Edge + Accelerate development velocity for all engineers. + Balance pragmatism with vision; deliver continuous improvements to the team's process and codebase + Build automation to prevent and/or remediate service problems from becoming production incidents **Qualifications** Required qualifications: + At least 12 years of experience in commercial software development. + BA/BS or MS Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience. + Experience in building, shipping and operating reliable, distributed solutions Preferred qualifications: + Experience with container runtimes such as Docker, Rkt, runC, containers and how they are enabled by the underlying OS components. + Experience with workload/container orchestration using Kubernetes or similar platforms. + Experience in Golang. + Solid architecture, design, development, and testing skills + Solid analytical, problem solving, and debugging skills + Proficiency in C+Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
