Kforce is partnering with a rapidly growing financial firm in Boston, MA to hire a highly skilled Principal Software Engineer (Quant, Fintech). This role requires a unique combination of programming expertise, applied mathematics proficiency, and knowledge of financial instruments such as equities, fixed income, or derivatives. Summary: As a Principal Software Engineer, you will be pivotal in implementing advanced analytical models and tools to support researchers and investment decision-makers globally. You'll work closely with a dynamic and multidisciplinary team of quantitative software engineers, researchers, and investment professionals on high-impact projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead the development of cutting-edge technical solutions, including gathering requirements, designing systems, productizing innovations, and optimizing performance. Key Responsibilities:

Develop and refine analytical models and sophisticated tools to support investment research and decision-making
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on high-visibility projects that drive innovation and impact
Lead technical initiatives across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to design, implementation, and optimization
Ensure delivery of best-in-class solutions tailored to quantitative investment workflows

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Financial Engineering, or a related field
Experience: Minimum of 7+ years in software development, with a focus on financial technology or services
Programming: Proficient in Python, Java, C++, or similar languages
Finance Expertise: Strong knowledge of applied mathematics, statistical models, and advanced finance concepts, particularly in areas like equities, fixed income, derivatives, or risk management
Collaboration: Exceptional communication and teamwork skills to thrive in a multidisciplinary environment

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
