Azure Security Monitoring team builds large scale microservices that collect and process terabytes of data every day to protect and keep Microsoft Azure secure.
Our team is looking for a Principal Security Engineering Manager, that will help lead our team across service fundamentals, to include reliability, scalability, maintainability, validation, and monitoring.
In this role, you wil play a pivotal role in shaping the future of security at Microsoft and leveraging your insights to protect our customers, while guiding and leading a group of skilled security engineers.

**Responsibilities**
As a Principal Security Engineering Manager your responsibilities will include:
- Designing, architecting, and developing high quality, robust, highly scalable, reliable, and secure services and pipelines within a data-rich environment.
- Lead a group of highly skilled security engineers and Model/Coach/Care. You will be looked up in creating clarity and accountability.
- Identifying and advocating for best practices and coding patterns, offering deep expertise in coding and validation strategies. Establishing and implementing metrics to elevate code quality, stability, and adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Providing technical leadership across key service fundamentals, including reliability, scalability, maintainability, validation, and monitoring.
- Serving as a role model and mentor, guiding team members in producing code that is both extensible and easily maintainable, benefiting the entire organization.
**Qualifications**
**Required/Minimum Qualifications**
+ 7+ years of experience in software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, modeling, cyber security, anomaly detection, Security Operations Center (SOC) detection, threat analytics, security incident and event management (SIEM), and information technology (IT) operations
o OR Master's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field.
+ 3+ years people management experience
+ 3+ years of experience programming in C# or Python or Scala
**Other Requirements**
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Security Operations Engineering M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.
