Principal Scientist / Associate Director, Biology

Position Summary:
TCG Labs-Soleil is looking for a top-notch drug discovery and development scientist to join our team. This energetic scientist will use their experiences and rigorous scientific judgement to help drive our drug discovery projects. A successful candidate will be leading drug discovery projects and mentoring junior members of our scientific team. As a key scientific leader in the team, this candidate would be driving and guiding the strategy and direction of drug discovery projects, planning and executing key studies, and contributing to important decisions on timeline, project progression, and portfolio prioritization.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead drug discovery projects across a broad spectrum of therapeutic areas including immunology and oncology
2. Work with leadership team to clearly define project directions, objectives, and deliverables
3. Execute key studies that drive timeline and progression of programs
4. Mentor a group of all-star research scientists in a fast-paced, matrixed environment; actively prioritize efforts to align with organizational priorities
5. Deeply engage with scientific literature
6. Contribute to scientific strategy and program prioritization as a key member of the biology research team

Qualifications:

1. PhD in biological sciences with 10+ years (or Postdoc with 8+ years) of industry experience
2. Leading by example and contributing to the design, planning, and execution of experiments
3. Expertise in the design and development of in vitro assays and in vivo models
4. Strong ability to interpret data, make recommendations with regards to next steps and priorities
5. Collaborative, communicative, and flexible; eager to do whatever is needed to help the team
6. Experience in managing direct reports and mentoring scientists
7. Unwavering integrity, accountability, transparency and respect
8. Science-based and data-driven decision with strong scientific rigor
9. Deep passion for bringing novel therapeutics to patients

The anticipated salary range for fully qualified candidates applying for this role will be $140,000 - $275,000 annually (not including discretionary bonus, equity, and benefits). The final salary offered will be dependent on several factors that include but are not limited to relevant previous experience including duration and type of experience within the industry, education, and internal equity.
