We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary **Principal Product Designer** to join our **OneMicrosoft Growth team** to drive high-impact growth initiatives for Microsoft Bing. This exciting opportunity will engage customers across a broad spectrum of Microsoft products and services to create a cohesive end-to-end experience. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of user experience and visual design across multiple platforms, a passion for creating engaging and rewarding user interactions, and the ability to lead and inspire design. As a visionary Principal Product Designer, you will elevate the craft by inspiring, defining, articulating, and delivering elegant and simplified solutions to our most complex challenges. Leading by example, you will collaborate with partners and executive stakeholders to drive exceptional design outcomes, aligning design solutions with business, technical, and user requirements. Your knowledge of design systems will guide the adoption of the latest updates, and you will advocate for acquiring new systems as needed. You will lead expansive prototyping initiatives and direct your team to generate innovative solutions for complex products. Effective communication of your ideas through compelling stories, sketches, and fully rendered designs is crucial to your success. Additionally, you will set the context for senior leadership, communicate a convincing product story to inspire excitement and support, and provide oversight and guidance to a team of product designers, ensuring high-quality, design-led initiatives across mobile and desktop platforms.

**Responsibilities**
+ **Lead Cross-Functional Collaboration:** Facilitate effective collaboration with creative team members, program managers, developers, and executive stakeholders to define, iterate, and implement new and existing product features, ensuring alignment with business, technical, and user requirements.
+ **Design System Knowledge** : Act as the Design System authority by overseeing the adoption and consistency of design standards across multiple teams, including the design systems team, evaluating industry updates, and advocating for the acquisition or enhancement of design systems to maintain high-quality craftsmanship.
+ **Design Excellence** : Understand the behaviors, motivations, and needs of our customers to develop and deliver relevant and impactful experiences.
+ **Strategic Product Design and Prototyping:** Drive the product design lifecycle from conception to delivery, including schedule alignment, dependency tracking, expansive prototyping initiatives, and ensuring designs meet user needs and company standards through detailed interaction models and user experience enhancements.
+ **Compelling Communication and Storytelling:** Develop and communicate persuasive product stories to diverse audiences, including senior leadership and key stakeholders, to inspire excitement and garner support. Influence product strategy and design decisions through effective storytelling and presentation of design concepts.
**Qualifications**
**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 8+ years experience working in product or service design
+ OR Master's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 6+ years experience working in product or service design
+ OR equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated experience working in product or service design or using design thinking to solve problems)
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ 8+ years experience working in Product or Service design
+ Demonstrated sense of Interaction Design attuned to the fundamentals of user experience
+ Extensive experience in accessibility and inclusive design
+ Strong Visual Design skills
+ Excellent communication and presentation / storytelling skills, with the ability to energize teams and advocate for your ideas
+ Experience designing in Figma

Product Design IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
