Principal Mechanical Engineer at Nesco Resource, LLC

Nesco Resource is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer for one of our clients in Naugatuck, CT. We are working with a well-established (very profitable for 40 years) client that is expanding into emerging markets in Europe with an environmentally conscious product.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and enhance electro-mechanical systems.
• Create mechanical design specifications including 3D models for parts, assemblies or complete products using computer-aided design programs and produce Engineering BoMs.
• Lead Design for Manufacturing (DFM) activities and other quality-oriented projects.
• Apply structured problem-solving tools and methodologies.
• Coordinates design changes based on manufacturing challenges.
• Provide input for process development.
• Offer engineering design support in collaboration with other teams to resolve manufacturing challenges.
• Adhere to and support company engineering processes.
• Collaborate closely with other departments, such as software development, manufacturing, purchasing and commercial teams, to ensure integrated project outcomes.
• Extend mentorship to new engineers.
• Stay current with new technologies, methods and techniques.
• Support and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred, Mechatronics will be considered.
• At least 12 years of experience in engineering design, proficiency in SolidWorks 3D and AutoCAD 2D.
• Experience working independently but also enjoy working in a team environment.
• Strong technical, analytical, and creative thinking skills.
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma and structured problem-solving methods.
• Very good English language skills; Romanian or German as a second language a plus.

• Salary range: $120 – 150K
