Overview:The PPL Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting a specialized HR function and functions for a defined operating region and/or functional business group. This position is a Generalist role. The role directly reports to Sr, Manager of HR or Sr. Director of HR. The HR Generalist routinely interacts with internal Operations & Function Managers, Executive Management, Professional Staff, Craft Employees, and Corporate Function Leads; and external Clients, Customers, and Technical/Professional Advisors.
Responsibilities:- HR generalist position for a specialized HR function or holistic functional HR business support for a geographic area or functional group, including staffing, employee/labor relations, T&OD, International Mobility, employee engagement, DE&I initiatives, regulatory compliance, employment risk management, onboarding, terminations, and all HR administrative activities.
- Provide timely and accurate advice and guidance on general HR inquiries related to policies and processes and other general HR matters including employee relations, benefits, talent development, and payroll.
- Work within defined parameters can make decisions and apply concepts to issues of high complexity and resolve issues through immediate action.
- Delivery of company training programs and training initiatives
- Manage performance, talent, and succession management programs across area of remit
- Produce and analyze HR reports, reach conclusions, or make recommendations to achieve business goals.
- Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and HR functional performance.
- Make recommendations for process improvements and innovations to drive efficiencies.
- Support workforce planning activities, including forecast histograms, and staffing plans.
- Support employee relations and direct interaction with skilled craft labor workforce; resolving all employee concerns in compliance with local laws and regulations
- Individual contributor with specialized knowledge and skills typically acquired through advanced education (3-4 year University degree).
- A recognized subject matter expert in job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience.
- 10-15 years’ experience in Human Resources
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.
- Knowledge of CB&I products and markets
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Mentally agile and ability to multi-task and manage tight deadlines
- Proven negotiating ability with high emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated business partnering skills with the ability to influence the organization
