Job Summary
The Enterprise Architect enables business and IT leaders to make investment decisions that balance and prioritize current operational demands, disruptions, and opportunities with the longer-term strategic vision of the organization. Furthermore the Enterprise Architect provides technology guidance, road maps, principles, standards, and best practices. The Enterprise Architect plays a critical role in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of our landscape. This role requires a deep understanding of technology and processes. The Enterprise Architect should be a strategic thinker, able to align IT initiatives with overall business goals, while also possessing the technical skills to deliver complex projects.
The Enterprise Architect Lead takes charge in collaborating with both business and technology teams to craft and steer corporate and business strategies for applications and technologies that are pivotal for seamless end-to-end business operations. This role requires the ability to forge strong partnerships across a diverse range of teams, including business leaders, delivery teams, and external partners, to propel business success and maintain strict alignment with the overarching enterprise portfolio and technology strategy.
The SAP Enterprise Architect is supporting and leading other enterprise architects in the management and implementation of the program which is worth and estimated 400 Million which includes leading the enterprise architects which is a full scale business transformation to SAP S4/HAN. The program will drive significant business value companywide. The technical scope includes key elements of the SAP S/4HANA application including Enterprise Resource Plannning (ERP), Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and Customer Information System/Customer Relationship Management/Billing (CIS/CRM/Billing) and adjacent platforms to be determined during Phase 0. In addition to the project mangement responsibilities the Program implemention Manager will have responsibility for overseeing a team of individuals who will be responsible for implementing this initiative across the enterprise.
The strategic scope includes implementing the program to ensue alignment across the company and to ensure outcomes are achieved. The program manager ensures critical programs are effectively governed to achieve target outcomes. The program manager will lead internal IT and business resources to execute the program.
Job Responsibilities
- Leads the implementation and management of comprehensive Enterprise Architecture and Technology Standards programs across medium to large organizations, ensuring these frameworks support strategic business objectives and technological innovation.
- Demonstrates deep expertise in product and program management, aligning multifaceted architectural deliverables (road maps, principles, standards, and best practices) with business goals to drive cohesive Technology strategies.
- Exhibits advanced ability to communicate complex technical topics in a clear, succinct, and impactful manner, making strategic Technology discussions accessible to all stakeholders.
- Oversees the management of program budgets and technology cost centers in large corporate environments, crafting financial strategies that ensure alignment with corporate financial targets and maximize technology investments.
- Directs Technology procurement and manages financial operations related to Technology, ensuring that vendor contracts and partnerships are strategically aligned with both immediate and long-term business needs.
- Excels in collaborating with business areas to deeply understand their needs and requirements, delivering innovative and strategically aligned solutions that drive business value.
- Possesses a high level of technical acumen, enabling thorough assessment and integration of solutions that meet current demands while anticipating future organizational needs across various sectors.
- Leads and inspires teams in the adoption and enhancement of cutting-edge technologies, such as Energy Efficiency solutions and cloud technologies, setting the standard for industry practices.
- Acts as a key innovator and change agent, leading organizational transformation initiatives that align Technology adoption with evolving business landscapes.
- Guides long-term strategic planning, including the development of comprehensive roadmaps and program plans that anticipate future Technology and market trends.
- Maintains a strong Digital acumen, continuously leveraging emerging technologies to enhance business operations and customer engagement.
- Leads and supports other enterprise architects in the management and implementation of the program by exhibiting strong leadership and influential skills, effectively guiding teams and influencing key stakeholders and partners across the organization.
- Proficient in presenting complex technical and strategic information to all levels of management and executive leadership, ensuring clarity and actionable insights.
- Demonstrates exceptional teamwork, facilitation, relationship building, and negotiation skills, fostering collaborative environments and Driving consensus among diverse groups.
Job Specific Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree with 10 years of relevent work experience. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, a minimum of 12 years of relevent work experience.
- Experience with large scale transformative projects.
- Utility industry experience or adjacent industry experience.
- Proven ability to lead cross functional teams to meet organizational objectives and outcomes via large scale programs
- Experience in leading large / complex cross-functional Enterprise wide programs.
- Demonstrated capabilities in leadership, innovation, problem solving, influencing, organizing, relationship building, communications skills, strategic thinking, project management and change management.
- Experience driving life cycle planning, portfolio management and IT standards setting to promote technology and organizational changes in order to drive innovation and improved business outcomes.
- Understanding of analytical and independent problem-solving skills; sound judgment and strong collaborative decision-making skills.
- Organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and juggle competing priorities with ease and under pressure.
- Excellent and efficient skills using MS Excel and PowerPoint tools.
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills – and ability to interact with colleagues at all levels in a peer-like way, and achieve goals without direct control over resources.
- High attention to detail; follows through to ensure accuracy and comprehensiveness.
