Principal Enterprise Architect-Remote, USA - Ambry Genetics

Compensation: $156,000-$200,000 per year.
You are eligible to a Short-Term Incentive Plan with the target at 15% of your annual earnings, terms and conditions apply.Principal Enterprise Architect – Remote, USA The Principal Enterprise Architect is responsible for aligning technology architecture strategies across Ambry to achieve business goals, developing technological roadmaps, and driving initiatives to modernize legacy systems and reduce technical debt.
This role provides technical leadership, promotes best practices, and coordinates cloud adoption, security, and SRE strategies.
The Enterprise Architect also supports IT governance processes.Essential FunctionsCollaborate with technical teams across domains to design, develop, and approve enterprise-wide technology architectures using a defined blueprint process and the LADR mechanismCollaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into a coherent technology vision and implementation planLead initiatives to modernize legacy systems, migrate to the cloud, and enhance security and SRE posture through Executive-level technology advisoryProvide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to IT teams on leading practicesDevelop and maintain a multi-year enterprise technology roadmap, ensuring alignment with business priorities and drive organizational change through executive communication and influence skillsCoordinate with security and SRE to integrate security and reliability at the architectural levelIdentify opportunities to streamline infrastructure, consolidate systems, and reduce technical debtSupport IT governance processes and ensure architectural decisions aligning with policies and compliance requirements to drive technology portfolio optimizationOther duties as assignedQualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent work experience 10+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, systems integration, and IT strategy Strong understanding of cloud computing, microservices, and modern application architecturesProficiency in solution design, technology evaluation, and business process analysisExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsExperience leading cross functional teams and driving largescale technology initiativesExperience with TOGAF, Zachman, or other enterprise architecture frameworksDemonstrate business acumen and innovation/creativity in driving performance and achieving organizational goals Communication and people development as core competencies to foster a collaborative and productive work environmentUnderstand quantitative and qualitative measures for evaluating performance to set clear expectations and goalsFamiliarity with IT governance and enterprise data capabilities for compliance and effective data managementPreferredMaster's degreeEnterprise Architecture certifications like TOGAF, Zachman, or FEAFExperience in Bio-Tech or life sciences technologyAWS Architect Certification About Us:Ambry Genetics Corporation is a CAP-accredited and CLIA-licensed molecular genetics laboratory based in Aliso Viejo, California.
