This role will be located at our Centennial, Colorado facility.
Role Overview:
Beehive Industries is looking for an energetic and driven Principal Engineer to lead the rotordynamics design, analysis, and development of novel jet engine and rig designs utilizing new technologies. This role will partner with hardware owners and various cross-functional leadership on a daily basis to develop and deliver the overall rotor and structural designs.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead rotordynamics analysis (critical speeds, forced response, maneuvers, stability, loads, etc.) new jet engines and rigs. Work with hardware owners to develop successful rotor and structure design based on analysis results.
· Conduct operational testing and develop test plans including instrumentation, data acquisition, signal processing. Provide presentations and recommendations based on test results.
· Knowledgeable in finite element analysis and able to apply that knowledge using ANSYS Workbench and associated tools. Includes performing static, modal, and forced response (i.e. HCF) analysis.
· Execute the design, analysis, and evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to industry standards, business processes, and product requirements.
· Lead design reviews and coordinate with other disciplines in design, , controls, additive manufacturing, bearings, materials and system analysis
· Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
· Participate in the research and development of technologies and methodologies associated with additive design. Advise on ways to improve product design through the exploitation of additive manufacturing.
· Role will initially be an individual contributor comfortable working in a dynamic self-directed start-up environment. As the organization grows, this role will be responsible for scaling design capability to support additional projects which will likely include some future team leadership. Being able to grow leadership capabilities with the role will be critical.
· Uses engineering judgment to balance complex and conflicting program requirements and propose solutions to optimize overall product performance
· Assure proper documentation of technical data generated consistent with engineering best practices
Qualifications:
· Bachelor"s degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college
· At least 12 years of experience in gas turbine rotordynamics.
· Significant experience with Rotordynamics software (Dyrobes preferred, XLRotor, XLTRC, OEM in-house codes, etc. acceptable) for analyzing critical speeds, forced response, stability, etc.
· Strong understanding of design software tools (CAD, ANSYS, etc)
· Experience with ANSYS Workbench focusing on structural and vibration analysis
· Passion for additive technology and willingness to challenge current design limitations to further exploit the benefits of additive capability
· Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
· Demonstrated problem solving ability and strong program leadership and execution skills
· Proven self-starter and quick learner who can work in fast-paced cross-functional teams

In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this position is $160,000-$190,000 base salary. Please note that wage information is a general guideline only, and we will consider factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, and market conditions when extending an offer.
