Position Overview
A leading company in ice and refrigeration equipment since 1948 is seeking a Principal Engineer for our Ice Maker Subsystem in the Lehigh Valley area. This role will spearhead the development of new technologies and their application in product designs for the food service and healthcare industries. The ideal candidate will drive innovation, ensure product reliability, and lead cross-functional teams to meet business objectives, contributing to our legacy of high-quality, innovative solutions in ice storage, transport systems, and medical-grade refrigeration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development process for new products in the appliance and commercial durable industries.
- Utilize CAD software for detailed design and modeling of components and systems.
- Evaluate load conditions and perform design evaluations to ensure product integrity.
- Conduct Design of Experiments (DOE) to validate design assumptions and product performance.
- Manage cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met on time and within budget.
- Develop and maintain technology roadmaps to guide future product innovations.
- Oversee project management activities, ensuring adherence to timelines and regulatory compliance.
- Implement best practices for machine design and refrigeration systems, focusing on efficiency and reliability.
- Resolve engineering challenges using advanced problem-solving techniques and methodologies.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering, with a focus on new product development in the appliance or commercial durable industries.
- Proficiency in CAD software and design for machining and casting.
- Strong experience in load evaluation and product reliability analysis.
- Demonstrated ability in project management and leading cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards relevant to the industry.
- Experience in technology roadmap development and implementation.
- Excellent problem resolution and analytical skills.
