CNC Engineering (CNC) seeks a Principal Electrical Engineer to join our team at our City of Industry (Industry) office, with at least 4 years of experience in the power distribution system in an electrical utility or with a consulting firm. This position operates under the supervision of the contract Electric Utility Director. This position works on a variety of aspects of municipal electrical systems including design, construction, maintenance and operation of underground distribution lines and customer services, distributing substation, street lighting and electrical service to miscellaneous public buildings and parking lot facilities.

Essential Functions
The essential duties include but are not limited to:
· Manage the design and review of detailed design and construction drawings for underground distribution lines, on site transformation facilities for the electrical services to customers and distributing substation.
· Distribution planning for expansion of distribution system and service to new loads.
· Manage electrical equipment specifications and detailed materials lists for rebuilding or adding to an electrical distribution system and public facilities.
· Manage the detailed design and construction drawings and specifications for street lighting systems.
· Investigation of transformer loads and review load additions to existing electrical services to determine overloaded transformers and required replacement.
· Project management from planning to completion, including budget and schedule.
· Preparation of reports, lead meetings and ability to make presentations to CNC Management and clients.
· Prepare or review data for reports to governmental agencies and maintain accurate records; Maintains knowledge of current regulations.
· Perform field work, such as the inspection of existing conditions and new additions or progress of construction on projects.
· Develop an understanding of the operation of electrical distribution systems, substation and street lighting systems, including power purchase agreements and compliance with the current laws and regulation of an electrical utility.
· Attend meetings, as necessary, with clients.
· Be a team player with a learning attitude.
· Perform other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited institution with Power Option.
· Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office.
· Proficient in AutoCAD.
· Understanding of software such as ETAP and SKM used for power system analysis.
Licenses & Certificates
· A California Professional Electrical Engineer license is required.
· Project Management Professional (“PMP”) license is preferred.
· A valid California Class “C” driver’s license or equivalent for site visits is required.
