The Amazon Device Brand Studio (DBS) is seeking a Principal, Business Operations to power business and financial planning and measure campaign performance. If you are obsessed with building mechanisms that use data to solve complex business problems in the creative marketing space, this may be the role for you. In this role, you will partner with senior leaders to provide data driven insights that influence business decisions. You will build scalable mechanisms to support business processes. The ideal candidate will have analytical skills that will enable you to dive deep into data to find answers, and to summarize the data into a logical analysis that ensures all stakeholders are informed.
Key job responsibilities
- Communicating, coordinating, influencing teams & senior stakeholders to implement data-driven strategies while measuring progress.
- Develop actionable insights to drive leadership decision making on key performance indicators through the development of dashboards and business reporting.
- Mining and analysing data from internal sources and ingesting external data using APIs or facilitating/building ETL pipelines for analysis and downstream use in analytics solutions.
- Partnering with finance team to create financial and headcount model for creative team annual/quarterly capacity planning.
A day in the life
As the Head of Business Operations, your typical day will involve a mix of planning and collaboration with cross-functional partners, data analysis, developing insights, and creating durable mechanisms for actioning against those insights.
Here's a glimpse into what your day may look like:Start by planning for reviews and collaborations. Setup meetings with key partners and imagine how you will work together to pull insights from customer behavior. Spend some time working on the plan for forecasting financial models, solving complex problems around distributed spend. In the afternoon, you may work on distilling feedback from a business planning workshop, and incorporate that into the monthy P0 review mechanism. You'll collaborate with counterparts in program management, production, operations, and marketing to review and incorporate feedback on dashboards and planning models. You'll engage in cross-functional meetings to gather requirements, provide updates, and coordinate expectations for upcoming projects and process improvements.
Through it all, you will engage in community leadership, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in business operations through research and networking. About the team
The Devices Brand Studio is the creative studio within the Devices & Services organization at Amazon. We deliver creative and design for product launches, events, and marketing campaigns.

Basic Qualifications
- 10+ years of building and applying statistical models and analytical systems for large-scale application.
- Background working in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team.
- Experience leading annual business planning for a large creative or marketing organization.
- Advanced knowledge of statistical analysis techniques and concepts, and how to apply them to large data sets.
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Proficiency in writing sophisticated SQL.
- Experience in data visualization & Cloud Computing (Tableau, AWS QuickSight or similar tools).
Preferred Qualifications
- - MBA, MS, or MA in computer science, mathematics, statistics, machine learning or equivalent quantitative field.
- - Experience with AWS services.
- - Background developing financial modeling for matrixed marketing or creative organizations.
- - Extensive experience in communicating complex solutions to senior leadership, gain alignment, and drive progress.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $119,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
