About the Job
As a Principal Analog Design Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and optimizing complex analog circuits and systems. You will leverage your expertise in DDR I/Os and RX design to develop high-performance solutions that meet the rigorous demands of modern electronics. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including digital designers, systems engineers, and product managers, to deliver innovative and reliable products.
Key Responsibilities:
Analog Circuit Design: Lead the design, simulation, and validation of advanced analog circuits, including DDR I/O interfaces such as RX, TX, PLLs, Bandgap and high-speed mixed signal circuits.
DDR I/O Design: Develop and optimize high-speed DDR I/O interfaces, ensuring signal integrity, noise immunity, and compatibility with industry standards.
RX Design: Design and enhance analog receiver circuits, including CTLE, VGA, DFE, and slicer focusing on performance metrics such as sensitivity, linearity, noise, and power consumption.
Collaboration: Work closely with digital design engineers, systems engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of analog and digital components.
Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to the development of best practices and design methodologies.
Design Verification: Conduct comprehensive simulations and testing to validate design performance and reliability. Address any issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
Documentation: Create detailed design documentation, including specifications, schematics, and design reports. Ensure that all design activities are well-documented and comply with internal and external standards.
Innovation: Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies. Propose and implement innovative solutions to enhance product performance and capabilities with focus on low power circuit design
Education:
Master’s, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 12-15 years of experience in analog design, with a strong emphasis on high speed RX and Analog-Front-End design. Experience with DDR protocol is preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in high-speed DDR I/O interface design and optimization.
- In-depth knowledge of analog receiver design, including noise performance and sensitivity.
- Proficiency with analog design tools (e.g., Cadence Virtuoso, Maestro, Spectre, HSPICE) and simulation techniques.
- Strong understanding of signal integrity, timing analysis, and power management.
- Leadership: Proven track record of leading complex design projects and mentoring junior engineers.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex design issues.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with industry standards and protocols related to DDR I/O and RX design.
- Publications or patents in the field of analog design or related areas.
