About the Job
Venesco, LLC has an upcoming need for multiple Family Medicine Physicians at Fayetteville Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center. Family Physicians personnel shall be responsible for providing Family Practice and interventional Family Practice consultative services for: assessment, diagnostic work-up and clinic intervention, including comprehensive patient assessment, health history, physical examination, and patient education to Veterans in the Primary Care team setting; outpatient include both scheduled and unscheduled Veterans. Order and evaluate diagnostic tests as appropriate, recommend treatment and/or referral. Record/document health appraisal information, clinical assessments, treatment decision, plan of care, ongoing management and therapeutic outcomes, order medications, diagnostic test and referral consultations where needed for every patient encounter; recording will be accomplished using the electronic comprehensive patient record system (CPRS) and will be completed on the day of the encounter.

Duties include:
Direct Patient Care: estimated 95% of the time involved in direct patient care.
Contractors shall be responsible for clinic appointments and follow-up of
labs/imaging/procedures ordered during these appointments, interpretation, phone
call consultation from hospitalists and intensivists on inpatients, and availability for
case review with nurse practitioners on service.
Contract personnel shall be responsible for providing Family
Practice and interventional Family Practice consultative services for:

patient education to Veterans in the Primary Care team setting; outpatient

Clinic Responsibilities: Contract personnel shall be present and on time for
clinic start times as documented by physical presence in the clinic at the
scheduled start time.
Communication of Test Results: Mechanisms must be in-place to provide
notification of test results for patients receiving care in accordance with VHA
Directive 1088, Communicating Test Results to Providers and Patients.
Medications: Contract personnel shall follow all established medication policies
and procedures. No sample medications shall be provided to patients.
Discharge education: Provide discharge education and follow up instructions
that are coordinated with the next care setting for all emergency department
patients.
ADMINISTRATIVE: estimated 5% of time not involved in direct patient
care section meetings, participation in once to twice monthly peer review case
review, Ongoing Providers Performance Evaluation (OPPE) participation, and
morbidity & mortality conferences as appropriate.
Quality Improvement Meetings: Contract personnel shall participate
in continuous quality improvement activities and meetings with
committee participation as required by the facility Chief of Service,
Chief of Staff, or designee.
Qualifications:
License: Shall have a current license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of
the United States or the District of Columbia when services are performed onsite on VA
property.
Board Certification: Shall be Board Certified/Board Eligible Physician Services by the American
Board of Family Practice and be currently certified in Basic Life Support (BLS)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalency. All continuing education
courses required for maintaining certification must be kept up to date at all times.
Technical Proficiency: Contractors physician, nurse practitioner, physician assistant,
shall be technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the governments
requirements, including the ability to speak, understand, read and write English fluently.
Continuing Medical Education (CME)/ Certified Education Unit (CEU) Requirements:
Contractor shall provide the COR copies of current CMEs as required or requested by the
facility. Physician shall continue to meet the minimum standards
for CME to remain current.
Training (ACLS, BLS, EHR and VA MANDATORY): Contractor shall meet all VA
educational requirements and mandatory course requirements defined herein; all training
must be completed by the contractors physician, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, as
required by the VA. Other training may become required. VA will communicate any
changes to the training requirement to the contractor.
