Job Description
We are looking for a Pricing Specialist with a focus on data analysis and management. Candidate will be an integral part of our Customer Service team while collaborating with multiple internal colleagues in key departments including IT, R&D, Sales and Finance.
This role will challenge your ability to work with ambiguity, manage large amounts of data, and turn data insights into action. This role works with many internal functions and levels of management so the ability to communicate through various means (emails, calls, presentations, etc.) will be very important. You will be creating analytics and recommendations for use internally as well as externally with the objective of positively impacting our financial performance.
Responsibilities:
· Working with IT, product management and other internal groups, become a subject matter expert on commercial data availability and structures. This includes customer, product, and geography master data as well as other external economic data.
· Monitor, measure, and report on price performance of sales, generating both standard and ad-hoc reporting. Ensure that the reporting is published weekly/monthly to all internal stakeholders.
· Review and respond to ad-hoc price change requests in a timely manner, verifying and preparing correct information for suppliers and inside sales teams. Proactively lead in driving root cause and correction of open pricing issues in the ERP system.
· Support an annual or semi-annual price change process by creating analysis, recommendations, and finally an actionable plan to implement in the ERP system.
· Support the Sales and Product teams by providing training on pricing best practices including discounting practices and deal structure.
· Track material and other cost changes on a regular basis and work with Sales and Product teams to implement any required corrective pricing actions.
· Monitor price changes and their impact after implementation to ensure 100% accuracy and achievement to plan.
Knowledge & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in an analytical field (finance, business, engineering, etc.). MBA is a plus.
· 3-6 years professional work experience in a pricing or business analyst role within a manufacturing company required with the following exposure:
o Multi-national business with unique products, customers, channels, and currency by region.
o Large product catalogs (SKUs>50k) and distinct lines of business.
· Data management and analysis that includes:
o Extraction from multiple data (ERP) sources into a central data warehouse.
o Transformation of data sources to normalize formats and address quality issues.
o Analytics and visualizations to understand trends, outliers, variation, correlation, etc.
· Solid communication skills – written (email and presentations) and verbal.
· Proficient knowledge of:
o Excel (expert level), Word, PowerPoint.
o Data tools: SQL (or other databases), POWER BI, Tableau, ALTERYX, KNIME, R, PYTHON, etc.
· Knowledge of ERP systems such as Oracle (preferred) or SAP.
· Very high level of attention to detail and accuracy of work.
· Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple concurrent projects.
· Demonstrated ability to work with large data sets and the ability to create actionable insights using that data.
