Power/mation is searching for a Pricing Analyst for our St. Paul office. This individual maintains pricing and special costing database information for products sold by Power/mation. Proactive data mining and analysis to identifyimprovement opportunities in pricing and costing. Establishes, maintains, and analyzes stock product "best buy" opportunities. Point of contact for internal price issues and general questions for all regions. Works collaboratively with the sales department to ensure margins are maintained and improved where possible.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs margin and pricing analysis to support key business initiatives as required.
- Performs analysis of existing transactional level data to identify price/margin erosion and assist sales and product management teams in constructing and implementing solutions.
- Maintains pricing and special costing database information on products sold by the organization.
- Reviews vendor price increases:
- Reviews pricing structure on an annual basis for margin improvement. Makes recommendation for increased customer price to coincide with vendor price increases.
- Reviews generaland ecommerce system pricing. Identifying optimal pricing relative to competitors across our portfolio, channels, and customers.Makes suggestions to the sales and management teamto change sell pricing to increase margins while maintaining competitive marketing pricing.
- Reviews vendor's special pricing agreements to ensure we are receiving the best price for each customer's situation. At renewal time, compares old special pricing agreements to new special pricing agreements to identify significant changes, advises sales and makes recommendations.
- Makes recommendations to Purchasing and/or Sales team to suggest blanket orders by analyzing quantities sold to purchase at lower costs allowing for better pricing for customers and securing orders now. Works closely with Purchasing to develop margin protection strategies.
- Leads sales pricing planning sessions; educating sales on pricing tools and collaborate on margin improvement opportunities.
- Regular participation in sales meetings, presenting pricing initiatives as needed.
- Manages customer pricing for key accounts.
- Proactively identifies questionable margin issues and corrects on daily basis.
- Maintains and developsprocesses,tools and reportsfocusing on pricing accuracy and profit maximization.
- Miscellaneous tasks assigned by management.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent, experience in pricing and/or data analyticsrequired. Distribution and market/product knowledge preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Significant knowledge of Microsoft Office application, with an emphasis on Excel and SharePoint. Experience with business intelligence (BI) and query tools.
- Knowledge of organizational operational systems such as Epicor P21 to know how and who can assist in pricing and costing problems.
- Ability to work in a team to efficiently and effectively complete departmental responsibilities.
- Ability to organize, handle and set multiple and changing priorities relative to their importance to efficiently and effectively complete job responsibilities.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent listening abilities to assist in problem solving with staff and ascertain the needs of customers.
- Excellent oral and written skills to communicate effectively with staff, internal customers, and vendors. Excellent Interpersonal skills to create a collaborative team building philosophy between departments.
- Ability to effectively present/communicate pricing information in sales and other meetings.
- Problem solving abilities to effectively address the concerns of Sales, vendors, and internal customers.
- Ability to travel occasionally to other Company locations and customer sites as needed.
