Responsibilities:
- Compile, maintain, and analyze pricing data from vendors, competitors and Stores; Compile and present information to Product Manager to assist in making matrixing and regional price setting decisions.
- Identify methods to regularly monitor pricing by vendors, competitors and Stores to review price advantage opportunities on products.
- Perform detailed analysis on product categories to aide in determining price sensitivity based on store sales; Compile information to assist Product Manager in developing and implementing pricing plans.
- Handle the entire special quote process by securing specials costs and recommending appropriate DC pricing and/or drop-ship multiplier adjustments to the Stores, filling out necessary tracking paperwork, and following up with appropriate Store(s) on the special quote.
- Compile, review, and maintain all regional pricing & special vendor pricing contracts to ensure the appropriate Store has the correct product pricing.
- Establish contacts with Vendors and build favorable, beneficial relationships with these individuals.
- Work with Product/Data Assistants to resolve problems that arise with a particular product/contract by identifying the source of the problem, contacting necessary parties to review options, and rectifying the situation based on information gathered.
- Works with regional representatives to provide rapid turnaround on pricing needs for regions.
- Develop and maintain full knowledge of all pricing procedures and systems.
- Work to improve and streamline processes.
- Communicate with Members (customers) on pricing procedures, policies, and strategies.
- Work effectively with peers, Product/Data Assistants, and Managers in heavy workload periods to ensure accurate and timely completion of department projects.
- Provide customer service to Stores by supplying information on products or directing them to other resources.
- Prepare new product packets containing all information justifying the addition of the product into the product line, such as research documenting product need, costs, competitive pricing, warehouse space required, regional considerations, product specifications, key contacts, etc. Ensure information in packets is maintained and updated with changes in forms, procedures, pricing, etc.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field; At least two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Mastery of the Microsoft Office Suite and other Software and Systems: Data Warehouse B.I. MITS Distributor Analytics, Product Information Management (PIM) System
- Ability to work with, write formulas for, and manipulate data with SQL, MITS, Access, Excel
- Ability to mine data using software such as SQL, MITS, Access, Excel
- Knowledge of marketing principles and techniques (place, price, promotion, etc.)
- Knowledge of basic business principles in entrepreneurial organizations (i.e., industry value chain, return on investment)
- Skill in manipulating computer databases to find and organize information
- Ability to recognize how the pieces of a task, process, department, product line, etc., relates to the whole business operation
- Skill in managing projects: establishing objectives, securing resources, creating timelines, scheduling activities and resources, and evaluating project status
- Ability to complete work with a minimum of supervision
- Ability to recognize inconsistencies/errors in numerical data (number recognition)
