Large Format Press Operator
Shift: Sun - Thurs, 2 pm - 10 pm
RPI, a global leader in print-on demand, is currently seeking a Large Format Press Operator who will play a pivotal role in the daily printing and finishing processes for corporate and consumer product manufacturing at our Tukwila, WA facility. Operating Onyx RIP software, two Canon Colorado 1650's, an Epson SC-F570 dye-sub printer, Fotoba XLD170 trimmer, and Dye-sub finishing equipment, you'll ensure top-notch color output while following precise production procedures, take charge of finishing aspects, including shipping prep, and contribute to our dynamic team.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Conduct quality inspections to guarantee high-quality output.
- Adhere to established procedures for printer use and workflow.
- Handle consumables with care for safe and efficient material use.
- Demonstrate proper handling of paper materials.
- Operate using safety and disposal procedures.
- Understand consumable life spans and replacement procedures.
- Perform basic mandatory preventative maintenance procedures as needed.
- Diagnose and correct minor quality and mechanical problems.
- RIP files to printers with precision.
- Utilize finishing capabilities, including laminating, grommet machine, wall cutter, and Javelin Integra cutter.
Required Skills/Experience:
- High School education or equivalent.
- Minimum of one year of Large Format printing experience.
- Preferred background in printing technology (traditional press operation, prepress, graphic design) and basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of Caldera RIP Software.
- Understanding of preventative maintenance procedures and prescribed maintenance intervals.
- Strong aptitude for mechanical and electrical functions.
- In-depth knowledge of printer diagnostic routines and maintenance functions on printer software.
- Understanding simple and complex consumable life spans, and replacement procedures

- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to cleaning and press chemicals.
- Keen vision for color detail.
