This position is part of the Customer Service Department's technical team, specifically focusing on supporting Mate's Press Brake Tooling product line.
The Press Brake Technical Support Specialist at Mate Precision Technologies provides guidance to customers regarding new and existing requests for special fabrication applications. Collaborates with departments and functions throughout the organization to provide innovative, reliable, and cost-effective tooling solutions and responds to problems and technical questions supporting our customers worldwide.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and advise customers on the best Press Brake Tooling recommendations, methods, and practices via various communication methods such as verbal, text, 2D, CAD, and 3D solid models.
- Partners with the Sales Team as the subject matter expert of all Press Brake Tooling questions and applications, offering guidance in support of business initiatives to meet and/or exceed department and business goals.
- Create and provide accurate and explanatory CAD images to describe proposed solution(s), including sequence of operations where applicable.
- Responsible for establishing sell price and approximate lead time to meet customer expectations utilizing business systems and applications.
- Provide accurate and timely verbal and written, pre and post-sale technical customer support to enhance customer experience.
- Continuously source and provide knowledge and information to customers, including product bulletins, links to information, and resources available on Mate.com.
- Experiential machinist with operational knowledge of Punch Press and/or Press Brake and/or Special Tooling Design is required to remain informed, knowledgeable, and up to date in all aspects of machining and tooling, with continued focus on Press Brake Tooling to ensure that our customers receive state of the art product and/or process recommendations and guidance.
- Ensure use and adherence of all business and department policies, handbooks, and procedures.
- Collaborates and effectively communicates with Customer Service Manager and Team.
- Acts as mentor and knowledge advisor on all topics, with a focus on Press Brake Tooling.
- Other duties as assigned.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A minimum of (4) four years of sheet metal experience, specifically related to Press Brake Tooling, is required.
- Practical experience in sheet metal machining; specifically forming and bending, is required.
- Experience working in 2D, 3D CAD, or dimensioning; such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar, is preferred.
- Ability to calculate discounts, percentages, perimeters, and tonnage.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and apply blueprints.
- Proficient in Microsoft office including word, excel, and outlook.
- Strong practical experience with various tooling designs and applications.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- The ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods is required.
- The ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times, is required.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Pay, Work Schedule & Benefits:
- Hourly Wage: $29.17 - $34.24/Hour
- Work Schedule: Monday through Friday from 8:30 am- 5:00 pm
