Job Summary
The Athletic Operations Manager manages the operations of a large Division I athletic program in partnership with the head coach; manages team travel and game day operations; oversees training camp operations; serves as liaison with central University offices; manages the operating budget; supervises athletic program staff.
Representative Duties
- Oversee sport-specific operational areas including recruiting, player development, administration, finance, game schedules, camp programs and game day logistics
- Serve as a liaison with University central offices including Compliance, Ethics and Integrity, Risk Management, Student Conduct; external associations and conferences including the NCAA; and external scouts and prospects
- Administer the athletic program operating budgets; review and approve budget plans; monitor expenditures; negotiate contracts
- Direct teams of athletic staff including hiring, training, evaluating, assigning work, and providing development opportunities
- Analyze data; identify strategies to improve operational effectiveness; develop and implement new procedures
