Job Classification: Full-time, at-will, hourly non-exempt
Salary range: $20 per hour; commensurate with experience and qualifications

Children's Choice is a well-established Preschool with locations throughout San Diego County. We are looking for a caring teacher's aides to support and assist the Lead Teacher. The teacher's aide will follow the lead teacher's instructions and guidance to gain experience and learn skills to make the classroom a welcoming and safe learning environment for the children.
The ideal candidate is passionate, patient, has good communication skills, is willing to learn and is open to constructive feedback. The aide is willing to step in wherever needed under the direction of a qualified teacher.
Responsibilities: Preschool Teacher's Assistant
- Support Lead Teacher: instruct preschool-aged children by following company selected curriculum under the supervision and guidance of the lead teacher (Zoo-phonics; training will be provided)
- Attend (1-3) monthly trainings/staff meetings after hours
- Enrollment in Child Development classes (minimum of 12 units) Tuition Assistance available
- Arrive on time, consistent attendance a must
- Keep classroom clean, neat, and organized following company policies and standards of care.
- Comply with all licensing rules and consult with lead teacher when unsure.
- Follow Lead Teacher's instructions, ask questions, and be willing to learn from a more experienced teacher. Communicate any concerns regarding a child to Lead Teacher.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and teachers.
- Willing to enroll in Child Development Classes. Company-sponsored tuition assistance available upon approval.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Excellent oral and written communication skills (English)
- Some previous experience with children a plus
- Passionate about working with children (infants through school age) and has a positive and patient demeanor.
- Must be able to work as part of a team and get along with various personalities.
- Pass DSS Background check
- Current Mandated Reporter Certificate
- Sexual Harassment Training Certificate
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Willing to learn software applications and adaptable to change.
- Able to work any 8-hour shift between 6 am and 6 pm as needed/assigned by Center Director.
- Able to work occasional overtime and attend after-hours staff meetings/trainings.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds, sit on the floor and/or stand for extended periods of time.
- TB Test, Immunizations: MMR, Tdap, Influenza
- Willing to help with transportation of children between Preschool and local Elementary schools in company vehicle (negotiable)
