Cairn Hill Nature Preschool is seeking a nurturing and energetic educator with enthusiasm for bringing Nature education to families in Lynn, Massachusetts.
We are located on 70 quiet acres of pristine woodlands on the Lynn/Salem border, 15 miles north of Boston. The school has two classrooms, serving a maximum of 34 children, aged 2.9-5 years. Cairn Hill's mission is to prepare children from all backgrounds for personal and academic success through joyful learning opportunities rooted in nature, play and the arts. We are inspired by a Waldorf educational model.
We are seeking a dynamic team player who loves children and enjoys the outdoors. We offer extensive training in a supportive learning environment with art and nature specialists, small class sizes, and opportunity for growth.
Position is onsite, full-time or part-time and commences immediately.
Salary: $20-$24/hour, commensurate with experience. Generous signing bonus.
Qualifications and Duties:
- Collaborative and flexible mindset with demonstrated ability to work in close communication with colleagues and families
- Strong skills in empathy and listening with a desire to meet young children with compassion and patience
- Passion for working with children one-on-one and in small groups
- Openness to learning about risk assessment and class management in an outdoor learning environment
- Observe and supervise children's behavior and learning indoors and outdoors, maintaining safety protocols and consistency with school pedagogy and philosophy of guiding children through warmth, connection, and child-led play and exploration
- Ability to walk and work outside in all-weather, embracing nature-inspired curriculum
- Regular professional development trainings
Educational and Experience Requirements:
- Meets EEC Minimum hiring requirements for Teachers/Lead Teachers
- Preschool teaching experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
