About the Job
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our kitchen team. The Prep Cook plays a vital role in ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly by preparing ingredients and maintaining a clean, organized work environment. This position requires efficiency, attention to detail, and a commitment to food safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and portion ingredients for menu items, including chopping, slicing, and measuring.
- Follow recipes and production instructions accurately to ensure consistency.
- Assist in the preparation of sauces, marinades, and other components as directed.
- Stock and organize workstations with necessary supplies for smooth service.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary workspace, including proper storage and labeling of ingredients.
- Assist with basic cooking tasks as needed, such as blanching, sautéing, or frying.
- Monitor food inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs to the kitchen team.
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Support line cooks during service by ensuring ingredients and tools are readily available.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by chefs or supervisors.
Requirements:
- Prior experience in a kitchen setting is a plus but not required; we provide training.
- Strong knife skills and knowledge of basic food preparation techniques.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 35 pounds.
- Team-oriented attitude and excellent communication skills.
